The Inspire Me! Hearts 4 Zoo Habitats Campaign
Help Us Help the “Best Little Zoo in the World”
Earlier this month, Hurricane Lisa made landfall on the coast of Belize. While most of us may have been unaware of Lisa, the impact on our friends at the Belize Zoo was devastating. As you can see, not only were habitats destroyed, but there was extensive damage to habitats and pathways.
However, due to the foresight and planning of the staff at the Belize Zoo, no animals or staff were injured during the hurricane.
The Zoo represents an important center for wildlife conservation in Belize and Central America. Through our relationship with the Zoo, we have been able to reach thousands of individuals to educate them on the importance of conserving the biodiversity of this country.
Now they need our help.

We have partnered with a private donor who will match donations up to $10,000 (US) to support the rebuilding and restoration of the Zoo’s wildlife habitats. Specifically, we are focusing on the coatamundi, scarlet macaw, and jaguar habits.
How YOU can HELP!
The immediate need at the moment are funds to help support the restoration effort. Habitat reconstruction, care and feeding of the animals, and infrastructure repair are rapidly depleting the Zoo’s post-pandemic resources.
Your donations, using one of the options below, will be matched 2 for 1 in US currency. Given the exchange rate with Belize, that equates to a 4 for 1 impact.
A $25 US donation provides $100 of funds in Belize currency.
