Awaken the
EdVenturer in You.

With Inspire EdVenture, you will not only explore the rainforests, ruins, and reefs of Belize, but you will also do so under the guidance of well-equipped educators dedicated to expanding your knowledge base. Our EdVentures are completely tailored with your educational needs in mind, from the length of your stay to the activities that you wish to partake in. It is our hope to encourage active and experiential learning, whether this is your first trip abroad or you are a seasoned traveler.

A sight, or three, to see.

Rainforests

Over half of Belize consists of subtropical jungle or rainforest with a variety of wildlife, such as the tapir, howler monkey, keel-billed toucan, coati, crocodile, and more. However, most EdVenturers come to Belize to catch the rare glimpse of the third largest cat in the world, the Jaguar. You will learn more about these incredible animals as you observe our Jaguar Monitoring Project. Monitoring of the trail cameras, casting of tracks, and spot analysis provide important information about the jaguar population, including how we might aid in the conservation of this Near Threatened species.

Ruins

From the rainforest, you will head to two of the most important archeological sites in Belize: the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich and Cahal Pech. Learn about the rich and mystical history of this area as you explore civilization’s that were built between 2,000-3,000 years ago. Xunantunich features the second largest building in Belize, El Castillo, with a 360-degree view that is sure to take your breath away. Cahal Pech takes you off of the beaten path to the oldest-known ruins in the Belize River Valley. This marvel features a mesmerizing view of the ancient civilization’s complex residential architecture.

Reefs

The trip wraps up on the tropical beaches of Belize where, while snorkeling, you will learn about the ecology of the coral reefs, experience the wildlife of the Sittee River, and learn about the ecology of and these diverse ecosystems. The coastal area of Belize is known for the largest barrier reef in the northern hemisphere, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, as well as sand cays, mangrove forests, and lagoons and estuaries. You will learn about the crucial efforts being made to address the lionfish invasion in waters of Belize, and if you are lucky, you might even be able to participate in a lionfish hunt and dissection.
